Real Ellipse


If your equation describes a real ellipse, pressing { EOD } displays:

  1. Press { --> }.
    The program displays:

    { x } - Displays the x-coordinate for the center of the original ellipse.
    { y } - Displays the y-coordinate for the center of the original ellipse.
  2. To continue, press { --> }.
    The program displays:

    { ang } - Displays the angle of rotation.
    { x′ } - Displays the x-coordinate of the center with respect to the rotated axes.
    { y′ } - Displays the y-coordinate of the center with respect to the rotated axes.
  3. To continue, press { --> }.
    The program displays:
    D_p3qKsc
    { maj } - Displays the length of the major axis.
    { min } - Displays the length of the minor axis.
    { m } - Displays the slope of the major axis with respect to the original axes.
    { b } - Displays the intercept of the major axis with respect to the original axes.
  4. When you finish viewing the results, press { --> } to return to the REAL ELLIPSE menu.
  5. Press { ESC } to return to the CONIC SECTIONS menu.
