Configure Scales

Configuring the scales from within Settings is done by selecting the rule you wish to configure, Top, Bottom, or Slider, and then determining which specific group of scales you want to configure.

There are three groups or sets of scales you may configure, the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary.  There are groups of 5 scales per group that are organized so that they appear together on the rule you are configuring.  When using the application, double-tapping a specific rule will cycle through the three groups that are configured.

Specific groups on certain rules may have limits on which scales are provided as options for that rule.  For example, the dimensional analysis scales are specifically limited to specific scales of the Primary group only, and the limitation extends to which scale positions on the rule may contain dimensional analysis scales and which ones.

To configure scales after selecting the rule to be configured, and the group to be configured, the individual scales are then selected and an option from the provided scale list is chosen.  Once all the desired scales have been chosen or configured for the given rule group, additional rules may be configured by selecting the back arrow item at the top of the dialog and going back to either pick a different rule for configuration, or configuring other application options.

Exiting the Settings dialog updates the application configuration to use the new settings and configured scales automatically.
